The beginning of the adventure
Matelex stands for “expert electronic equipment” in French, like its expert system dedicated to leak detection. Faced with very high leakage rates and without a solution suitable for constant monitoring of installations, Gérald Anquetil – creator of Matelex – patented the Intelligent Level Detector (DNI) in 2009.
In 2011, the first DNIs were installed and then connected to the Sentinelle web interface. Once the direct emissions (leaks) have been dealt with, it is the floating energy and HP modules that emerge, to tackle indirect emissions and thus complete the global Matelex approach.
Integration into the Dehon group
Wishing to draw on the expertise of a family group born in 1874, and in particular Climalife, a European specialist in refrigerants, Matelex turned to the Dehon group at the end of 2017.
This buyout has enabled the company to meet growing market demand with more human and technical resources. It has also enabled the Dehon group to consolidate its offer of innovative and sustainable solutions for thermal systems, with a connected tool.
Matelex wins Innovation Award at AHR Expo 2020 (USA)
In early 2020, the expert members of the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) jury awarded Matelex an innovation prize at the AHR Expo trade fair. The annual competition recognises the most inventive and original products, systems and technologies presented at the show each year.
Matelex has won the 2020 Innovation Award in the tools and instruments category for its connected offer for monitoring refrigeration systems..
2020 – 2022: Continued development of cutting-edge technological solutions
We’re entering the Covid period. The successive confinements are enabling Matelex to carry out in-depth work on improving its existing DNI solution, with specific deployment of a new Kernel (essential component of operating systems) in the field.
At the same time, Matelex began a complete overhaul of its supervision solutions: the DNI became the PolarBox and Sentinelle became PolarVisor. Matelex strengthens its team, explores new technologies, sets up user surveys and creates a complete set of specifications for its solutions, tailored to market needs. The development team has fully adopted agile methods and has a detailed roadmap for the next 3 years.
2023: Matelex joins the French Fab!
French Fab brings together companies working for French industry. Its aim is to accelerate the transformation of industry by disseminating the concepts and technologies of the industry of the future. 2023: Matelex launches its new PolarVisor remote monitoring platform
Byebye Sentinelle. Matelex launches PolarVisor, a new supervision platform in the form of a web application, with new technologies and new functions. PolarVisor enables remote monitoring of all installations equipped with DNI and Energy modules. Thanks to user feedback, we’re developing a dashboard with a list of installations in alarm, new contour lines, more remote actions, etc.
The aim is to provide remote access to the operation of refrigeration plants in real time, and to provide early warning of any deviations. No more unpleasant surprises, ill-prepared interventions due to lack of information or unnecessary journeys: PolarVisor simplifies the management of a fleet of refrigeration plants.
2024: The PolarBox revolution: a new era for supervision!
Following the arrival of PolarVisor, a new range of monitoring equipment for refrigeration is now available: the PolarBox! Designed to meet the demands of the sector, it is more than just an evolution of the DNI: it incorporates major new features such as multi-centre monitoring and on-board 4G connectivity. Faster, more modular and with a brand new, intuitive configuration interface, the PolarBox is an intelligent, forward-looking solution that puts IoT technology at the service of refrigeration professionals!
